  • 1 cup  Kikkoman Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce
  • 6 oz pineapple juice (1 can)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp Kikkoman Sesame Oil

For the slaw:

  • Combine the  teriyaki sauce, pineapple juice, brown sugar and sesame oil in a medium bowl and whisk until all the sugar is dissolved. Divide the marinade in half and place the chicken in one half and chill for 30 minutes.
  • While the chicken is marinating, make the slaw by combining the cabbage, carrots, pineapple, cilantro, mayonnaise, sriracha, and lime juice together and tossing until evenly coated.
  • Next, take the remaining half of the marinade and place it in a sauce pan over medium high heat until it comes to a simmer, continue to simmer for 5-8 minutes or until it is reduced by about half and thickened, then remove from the heat.
  • Remove the chicken from the refrigerator and grill over medium heat for 4-6 minutes per side. Once done, let rest for 5 minutes, then chop into small bite-sized pieces. Toss the chopped chicken with the thickened marinade.
  • Assemble tacos by warming the tortillas in a hot skillet then filling it with a generous scoop of chicken, a spoonful of pineapple slaw and garnish with a sprinkle of cilantro.

Oven Kalua Pork

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Rub liquid

smoke and 1 1/2 tablespoons of the salt into the skin of the

pork. Wrap well in foil, and seal completely. Place in a roasting

pan. Bake in the preheated oven until an internal temperature of

145 degrees F (63 degrees C) is reached, about 5 hours. Remove

from oven and let cool before shredding. Sprinkle the shredded

meat with the remaining 1 tablespoon of salt.

  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 eggs, lightly whisked
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 4 1/2 – 5 cups all purpose flour
  • Egg Wash: 1 egg + 1 teaspoon water

  • In a microwave safe bowl combine the buttermilk and butter. Microwave in 25 second increments until the mixture is warmed (110°F – 120°F) and the butter is almost melted.
  • In the bowl of your stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment add in the buttermilk mixture, pineapple juice, sugar, salt, eggs, and yeast. Stir on low until combined.
  • Add in 2 cups of flour and mix on medium speed for 1 minute. Gradually add in 2 1/2  more cups of flour, until a soft dough forms. Add more flour if necessary.

  • Spray a clean bowl lightly with nonstick spray. Place the dough into the prepared bowl and cover with a clean towel. Place in a warm spot in your kitchen for 1 hour until the dough has risen and doubled in size.
  • Coat a 9×13 baking pan with nonstick spray. Set aside.

  • Now that dinner is covered lets talk about movies and since we went Hawaiian in this one you can't go wrong with the movie:
  •
  •                                              Moana

  • On the Polynesian island of Motunui, the inhabitants worship the goddess Te Fiti, who brought life to the ocean using a pounamu stone as her heart and the source of her power. Maui, the shape-shifting demigod of the wind and sea and master of sailing, steals the heart to give humanity the power of creation. However, Te Fiti disintegrates, and Maui is attacked by Te Kā, a volcanic demon. He loses both his magical giant fishhook and the heart to the depths of the sea.

A millennium later, the ocean chooses Moana, daughter of Motunui's chief Tui, to return the heart to Te Fiti. Tui takes Moana away, causing her to lose the heart. Tui and Sina, Moana's mother, try to keep her away from the ocean to prepare her to become the island's chief. Sixteen years later, a blight strikes the island, killing vegetation and shrinking the fish catch. Moana suggests going beyond the island's reef to find more fish and figure out what is happening, but Tui forbids it. Moana tries conquering the reef but is overpowered by the tides and shipwrecked back to Motunui.

Moana's grandmother, Tala, shows her a secret cave of ships, revealing that their people were voyagers until Maui stole Te Fiti's heart; the ocean was no longer safe without it. Tala explains that Te Kā's darkness is poisoning the island, but can be cured if Moana finds Maui and has him restore the heart of Te Fiti, which she gives to Moana. Tala falls fatally ill and, on her deathbed, tells Moana that she must depart to find Maui.

Setting sail on a camakau from the cavern, Moana is caught in a typhoon and shipwrecked on an island where she finds Maui, who boasts about his achievements. She demands that Maui return the heart, but he refuses and traps her in a cave. She escapes and confronts Maui, who reluctantly lets her on the camakau. They are attacked by Kakamora—coconut pirates—who seek the heart, but Moana and Maui outwit them. Moana realizes Maui is no longer a hero since he stole the heart and cursed the world, and convinces him to redeem himself by returning the heart. Maui first needs to retrieve his magical fishhook in Lalotai, the Realm of Monsters, from Tamatoa, a giant coconut crab. While Moana distracts Tamatoa, Maui retrieves his hook but discovers he can no longer control his shape-shifting. He is overpowered by Tamatoa, but Moana's quick thinking allows them to escape with the hook. Maui reveals that his first tattoo was earned when his mortal parents abandoned him as an infant, and the gods, taking pity on him, granted him his powers. After reassurance from Moana, Maui teaches her the art of sailing, regaining control of his powers, and the two grow closer.

They arrive at Te Fiti's island, only to be attacked by Te Kā. Moana refuses to turn back, resulting in Maui's hook being badly damaged. Unwilling to lose his hook in another confrontation with Te Kā, Maui abandons Moana, who tearfully asks the ocean to find someone else to restore the heart and loses hope. The ocean obliges and takes the heart, but Tala's spirit appears, inspiring Moana to find her true calling. She retrieves the heart and sails back to confront Te Kā. Maui returns, having had a change of heart, and buys Moana time to reach Te Fiti by fighting Te Kā, destroying his hook in the process. Moana discovers Te Fiti is missing, and realizes Te Kā is Te Fiti, corrupted without her heart. Moana tells the ocean to clear a path, allowing her to return Te Fiti's heart, and the restored goddess heals the ocean and islands of the blight. Maui apologizes to Te Fiti, who restores his hook and gives Moana a new boat before falling into a deep sleep and becoming a mountain.

Moana bids farewell to Te Fiti, returning home where she reunites with her parents. She takes up her role as chief and wayfinder, leading her people as they resume voyaging.

In a post-credits scene, Tamatoa, stuck on his back, addresses the audience, knowing they would help if he was named Sebastian.

                                              Jungle Cruise

If your going to see any movie this summer holy damn you need to see Jungle Cruise, this was so amazingly good ever movie needs to be made with all this chemistry just such an amazing film  so please see it you will love it. So, with that, lets get to the story shall we:

Set during WWIriverboat captain Frank Wolff transports British scientist Dr. Lily Houghton, and her brother MacGregor, on a mission into a jungle to find the Tree of Life, which is believed to possess healing powers that could be of great benefit to modern medicine. All the while, the trio must fight against dangerous wild animals, a hot and deadly environment, and a competing Imperial German expedition that is determined to find the tree first. Dr. Lily Houghton enlists the aid of wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff to take her down the Amazon in his ramshackle boat. Together, they search for an ancient tree that holds the power to heal -- a discovery that will change the future of medicine.

In the 16th century, Don Aguirre leads Spanish conquistadors to South America in search of the Tears of the Moon, a mythical tree whose petals can cure any illness, heal any injury, and lift any curse. After most of his men died in the jungle, the survivors are nursed back to health by a local tribe using the tree petals. When they refuse to reveal the location of the tree, the Spanish destroy the village. As punishment, the conquistadors became cursed by the village chief to never die and never be able to leave sight of the river or the jungle would take them back to it for all eternity.

In 1916 London, Dr. Lily Houghton and her brother, MacGregor, present Lily’s Tears of the Moon research to an association of Royal Society explorers, explaining that the petals could revitalize medicine and aid in the British war effort. The Houghtons request access to an arrowhead recovered by Dr. Albert Falls that Lily believes is key to locating the tree. When the association denies their request, believing the tree is a myth and a female scientist is unqualified to join their ranks, Lily steals the arrowhead. She narrowly avoids Prince Joachim, a German aristocrat who also wants the arrowhead to find the tree.

In South America, Frank Wolff takes tourists on jungle river cruises, which are embellished with fake dangers and corny jokes. When his boat engine is repossessed by businessman Nilo, Frank attempts to steal it back. Caught in the act by Lily, Frank pretends to be Nilo and claims the Tears of the Moon is a myth and that she could not withstand the dangerous jungle; he then backtracks after noticing Lily possesses the arrowhead. Frank’s deception is revealed when the real Nilo shows up, but Lily hires Frank anyway after he underbids Nilo and bravely fights a jaguar.

Frank, Lily, and MacGregor depart on Frank’s boat, but they are nearly intercepted by Nilo attempting to confiscate his engine, by mercenaries hired by Joachim to retrieve the arrowhead from Lily, and by Joachim himself attacking in a German submarine. After making their escape, it is revealed that the attacking jaguar was actually Frank’s pet, Proxima. Lily wonders if Frank can be trusted.

Joachim locates the cursed conquistadors, whose bodies turned to stone due to them traveling too far from the river, and have been infested over time by tree roots, snakes, and insects. Joachim frees them by diverting the river, and offers to help them break the curse if they help him retrieve the arrowhead.

As Frank, Lily and MacGregor continue down the river, they grow closer. MacGregor tells Frank he was nearly disowned by his family due to being gay, but Lily stood by him. Breaking into Frank’s cabin, Lily finds photos and drawings of inventions such as the automobile, but also discovers drawings of the arrowhead and research on the Tears of the Moon. Lily accuses Frank of wanting the tree for himself, but he explains he gave up searching for it a long time ago and believed it can never be found. A tribe of “cannibals” attack them and demand the arrowhead, but this is exposed as another of Frank's faked dangers; they are a friendly tribe he has an arrangement with. Frank apologizes and claims he was unable to call off the plan, but Lily rebuffs him.

Trader Sam, the tribe’s female leader, translates the writing on the arrowhead, revealing the tree's location and that it only blooms under a blood moon. The conquistadors attack and take the arrowhead; Frank recovers it and gives it to Lily, but is fatally stabbed through the chest with a sword. Lily runs away from the river so the Spaniards are unable to follow due to the curse's limits.

The next morning, Lily discovers that Frank has miraculously survived. He reveals that his real name is Francisco, and he is one of the cursed conquistadors, unable to die or leave the river. The expedition to find the tree was originally a noble one to save Aguirre's sick daughter, Anna, but when the natives were attacked by the Spaniards, Frank switched his allegiance to help the villagers. After years of fighting, Frank trapped Aguirre and the others in a cave where the river could not reclaim them and where they became petrified. He then spent centuries searching for the tree to lift his own curse. But unable to find it without the arrowhead, he had finally given up.

An injured MacGregor stays behind with Trader Sam while Lily and Frank make the final journey to the tree. MacGregor is captured by Joachim and forced to reveal the tree's location. Joachim breaks his arrangement with the cursed brigands, in order to keep the petals for himself, but Frank, Lily, the Germans, and the Spaniards all converge on the tree. While solving the puzzle, the arrowhead is discovered to be a heart piece having a gem, which after placing blooms the tree under the blood moon. The moon passes as they fight, and Lily is only able to recover one petal. MacGregor fights Joachim, who dies, while Frank crashes his boat to block the river, which turns himself, Aguirre and the other Spaniards into stone. Lily expends the petal to revive Frank and break his curse. The moon breaks out one last ray of light and one final petal blooms - Lily’s research can proceed.

Returning to the United Kingdom, the society has offered full membership to Lily, which she rejects via MacGregor, who uses the opportunity to insult the society, saying that they are unworthy of the research, or the tale of the trip, or anything learned by it, primarily stories due to their chauvinism and insular nature. Lily fulfills her promise to show Frank all of London and the movie ends as she gives him his first driving lesson in her automobile, where she herself delivers a corny joke, worthy of Frank's admiration.

Now we have come to the dessert part of our new post, so, lets get to it shall we:

                                Chocolate Haupia Pie

Crust

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 pinch salt

Filling

  • 2 13.5 oz cans coconut milk
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 4 oz chocolate, chopped (any kind)
  • 1/2 tsp coconut extract

Topping

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp sugar

For the Crust

  • Melt the butter and mix with graham cracker crumbs
  • Press clumps of crumbs along the bottom and sides of a 9" pie tin to form the crust
  • OPTIONAL: Bake for 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees F to get an extra toasty and set crust. The crust will be fine without being baked as well. Set aside to cool while you prepare the filling.

For the Filling

  • Mix coconut milk, cornstarch, and sugar in a saucepan.
  • Heat on medium heat, whisking constantly, until mixture begins to steam but is not bubbling.
  • Pour out 1 1/2 cups of the mixture and set aside.
  • Return the remaining coconut mixture to the stove. Mix in chocolate and whisk until melted and combined. Turn up the heat to medium-high and continue whisking until thick and bubbling.
  • Pour chocolate coconut mixture into prepared crust. Smooth out the top with a knife if needed. Place the pie in the fridge or freezer to cool while you prepare the second layer.
  • Return the reserved 1 1/2 cup of coconut mixture to the stovetop, either in a clean saucepan. Turn up the heat to medium-high and continue whisking until thick and bubbling.
  • Take the mixture off the heat and whisk in the coconut extract.
  • Carefully pour the mixture into the pie crust over the chocolate layer. The chocolate layer should already be set enough to prevent the second coconut layer from sinking down to the bottom.
  • Place the pie into the fridge to set completely. If you are not topping with whipped cream, you can leave the pie uncovered. Otherwise, plastic wrap directly touching the top coconut layer will prevent a skin from forming as the pie cools.
  • Let pie set until firm, at least 3 hours but preferably overnight.

For the Whipped Cream Topping

  • Just before serving, place heavy cream and sugar in a mixing bowl.
  • Whip on high speed until stiff peaks form.
  • Place whipped cream over pie and smooth out over the surface with a spoon or knife.
  • Optional: decorate top with chocolate shavings, sprinkles, or shredded coconut before serving.

Ok we have come to the end, I really hope you enjoyed this one cause it is filled with so many great things to try, so if you have any questions please let me know and also if you will please leave a like and retweet on my twitter https://twitter.com/THEBLIZZARDSIX
